Here at CLEARVIEW Eye & Laser, we have the most advanced procedure available: iLASIK surgery!
Your eye has a clear lens through which light passes allowing you to see. Cataracts are a clouding of the lens inside the eye. The clouded lens distorts and blocks the passage of light to the retina, causing vision to be blurred. While cataracts can affect people of any age, they are most common in older adults. They are a natural part of the aging process.
Skin naturally loses elasticity over time, which can cause skin to collect above and below the eyelid. Also known as, blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery reduces bagginess under the eye or sagging above the eye from excess skin. Blepharoplasty is usually done for cosmetic reasons, but can also aid in improving vision for those whose sagging upper eyelid impairs their vision.
Glaucoma is an eye disease that damages the optic nerve by limiting the circulation of aqueous humor fluid that helps maintain healthy eye pressure. When aqueous humor doesn't flow properly, it can cause a build up in fluid pressure that leads to optic nerve damage. There are many types of glaucoma, including:
Not controlling your blood sugar levels can cause changes to the blood vessels inside the retina in the back of your eye. Blood vessels may swell or leak, or new abnormal blood vessels can grow that lead to gradual vision loss and eventual complete loss of vision that cannot be regained. This is diabetic retinopathy and may occur with type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes.
A corneal transplant is the replacement of damaged or diseased cornea with a healthy cornea in order to restore vision. Corneal transplants are usually needed when the cornea is scarred or swollen beyond the repair of other treatments.
You may have experienced symptoms such redness, burning, irritation, excessive tearing, gritty or scratchy foreign body sensations, difficulty wearing contact lenses, blurred or inconsistent vision. You may have dry eye, a condition in which the eyes do not produce enough quality tears. This condition becomes more common as we age and can be caused by the environment, medications such as antihistamines and oral contraceptives or autoimmune diseases like arthritis and Sjogren’s syndrome.
CLEARVIEW Eye & Laser uses various up-to-date tests and procedures to examine your eyes. The tests range from simple eye chart reading to using a high-powered lens to examine the inside of your eyes. Here are some of the most common tests we may use in order to examine your eyes.
Contact lenses are a great alternative to give you freedom from glasses. Here at CLEARVIEW Eye & Laser, we provide complete contact lens services and fit the most advanced contact lens brands and materials. We offer the latest in contact lens technology to provide you with best possible vision, comfort, and health. It is never too early for an eye exam, although it is wise to have children examined by age four. There are a number of conditions where an early eye exam is mandatory: prematurity, excessive tearing, droopy eyelids, crossed eyes or a failed vision screening. Early treatment allows for timely intervention, which is particularly important for a child's developing eyesight.
